X Japan Concert and Hanshin Tigers Match :P

Hanshin Tigers Match: Atmosphere was incredible.. omg fans had like drums, trumpets crazy banging things, etc...
Its so fantastic as every player has like a song made for them.. and the fan club ppl are like so coordinated.. they have like signs to inform the other fans what songs to sing and when

whenever Tigers get a hit the crowd goes wild lol and we sing the players or team song. Wasshoi Wasshoi!

Went there like 2-3 hours earlier, qued for the goods and all the M-size shirts were sold out omg!~!! anyway got the S-sized one.. (bopian) and immediately changed into it :P

Concert was a blast, crazyomgfantastic opening, Introducing X Japan..Japan.. that part had like the loudest shouts of the night... 10 years.. finally!!!! YOSHIKI!!

....X-JAPAN! The X'es in the concert were omgfark gorgeously done... crowd was fantastic be it 15 yr olds to 60 yr olds..

Tokyo Part 1

Tokyo

Was in Tokyo on Christmas and came back just before the new year.
Took the night bus from Kyoto Eki until Tokyo Station. The bus ride was pretty ok.. hard to actually sleep cause of all the toilet breaks. Furthermore, the leg space was pretty small. And even worse for Daniel, the person next to him takes up almost half of his seat.

Over the 3 nights in Tokyo we stayed in capsule hotels. First time in a capsule and it wasn't so bad actually. The inside was quite spacious and it even has a TV inside with cable TV ^^
There were shared showers and sentou as well too. Only irritating thing was, in the capsule theres an alarm... In the morning if there were 20 people in it you can hear 20 alarms going off at different times and it can get really irritating..

Last day: Anime Convention!
Comic Market was on from the 28-30th I think and how lucky we were to be able to attend this incredibly huge anime convention. It actually could be the biggest Anime convention in the world... we had to queue for like an hour before entering and the train station and convention center were so jammed pack full of people. Anyway, we had no idea where to go once we went in cause there were so many people and the place was huge. We ended up in doujinshi hall 1,2 and 3 and that alone was friggin huge already..
we then went to the roof where the cosplay was going on. As expected, tons of people with their incredibly powerful pinkjusticefreedom gundanium cameras were snapping away at the cosplayers. The crazy thing was that there were so many of them that every time after circling around the area, we find new cosplayers with different suits.

At the end of the convention, we realized there was a doujinshi hall 4,5 and 6! We were like omg thinking we missed out on like half the convention.. until we realized there was a west building.. which we never stepped foot in... so basically we covered like 1/4 of the entire convention and that alone was already so tiring...
well, better luck next year. ; ;

It was really fun and I wanna go back to Tokyo. Day 2,3 and 4 were mostly (Daniel) shopping and random walking around in Harujuku.. will blog that later :P

Had a dinner party with Lucie and the gang, Lucie cooked so much food.. Hontoni Arigatou Lucie San~~ I tried this Foie Gras(sp?) for the first time and it was delicious~~
the closest similarity is kinnda like liver but mashed up... but compared to the liver found in Singapore, the taste is so different. sugoi ^^

Anyway I realised in certain countries like France and Sweden, they celebrate Christmas on the 24th instead of the 25th. Also I learned a lot about the different traditions and ways people celebrate on Christmas.

The pigeons here are shockingly fat and lazy. Never in my life have I seen such fat and lazy pigeons before. To explain how lazy they are, I was cycling to Shijio the other day when there were two fat pigeons that were like 5 meters infront of my path. You would expect them to fly away but omg nooooo. 1 meter away and their still like rooted to the ground… first time in my life I had to E-brake and shoo them away before I could continue on…

My friend came over this week to visit Osaka and we met in Kyoto to do some sightseeing and A LOT of shopping…

Omg ok really long since I've blogged.. because of a few reasons... so don't say i bo sim ok :P
The internet here in my dorm is pretty bad.. especially at night, takes like 10 tries to log on MSN and over 20 minutes to load a single webpage....
Also school is getting pretty busy nowadays.. reports and presentations are starting to pile up.

Anyway, just got back from a field trip to Himeji with the entire KUINEP students and it was a blast! :P I did the sakana therapy again and this round it was so cheap omg. 1000 yen for FREE TIME (means any amount of time) omg.

There were shikas(deers) everywhere around Todaiji temple.
The shikas were also allowed to roam around freely, sometimes even on to the road.

Anyway I just got back from an onsen trip and it was so fun~~~ The onsen is friggin hot.. like 40 degrees.. I also tried the fish therapy thing which was omg so amazing... you put your feet in the tank for like 20 mins and all the fishes inside will rush to you and eat I think the dead skin of your feet.. was a bit ticklish in the beginning but it was so cool... will upload the photos once I got them from my fren's camera :P

Despair Ray

Joined Daniel to watch Despair Ray's Live house. Never heard of the band before but the concert was omg wild! 80% of the fans were girls I think.

Anyway they have tons of hand motions and head motions during the concert. During some part of their songs everyone just goes into a frenzy and start shaking their head left and right non-stop... I was like OMG. There were 2 really hardcore fans next to me who's hair was like slapping my face non-stop when the chorus came. It was really cool and everyone was like really into the concert.. everyone came dressed in cool dark gothic? outfits.

The band's songs were pretty good and the performance was outstanding. Because it was a livehouse we were pretty close to the band, and I have never had "seats"(its free standing) this close to the stage before.

Towards the end the bass and lead guitarist were throwing away picks and bottles to the crowd and everyone was like trying real hard to grab anything... even the empty mineral bottle that they drank...

Anyway the lead singer threw his half drank bottle towards me and so me and the surround people got splashed pretty bad.. but during the confusion and screaming of "woooos" I caught this.

I didn't know it was a big thing till Daniel told me that this is not for sale in stores... hehe

Nomihodai!

Classes started and quite shiong omg. Japanese classes are like 3 hours per lesson and its 3 times a week... anyway we went for a "nomihodai", in Kyoto station, which is an all you can drink thing for 2 hours. Kinda like a buffet drinking style.

The nomihodai comes along with small appetizer dishes like daikon, sushi, etc.

We tried to order everything available on the menu since it was "nomihodai". The Japanese sake, not sure whats the name liaoz, was really good. There was also quite a number of cocktails for you to choose from.

Cycled down to Shijio today with Anthony, Mai, Sue and Daniel from school. It was pretty quick because it was a straight road and there was this really cool scenic bicycle path next to the river...

We parked our bikes under some bridge at Sanjio and walked all the way to Shijio..

Daniel and Mai then had to leave so me, sue and anthony went to shop around Shijio. Then I saw this couple playing this UFO catcher thingy and winning some super big elmo doll so we all decided to try out..

Been going to school from 9-5 for the past 2 days... tiring but fun!
I finally bought my bike and omg its soooooooooooooo fun to cycle to school and back hehe. The bike cost about 6,500 yen (SG 70-80) , comes with a basket infront and a lock ^^

Last night we visited an Okonomiyaki store nearby our dorm and the owner was so fascinated with our group.. she was like asking each one of us where did we come from.. we had people from Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore (duh me :P), Austria, Sweden, Australia and Korea lol

Ok 1st day in Kyoto and boy was it so tiring...but fun! tried to sleep on the flight but ended up watching Hairspray again...
I am so fortunate that Mai's boyfriend gave me a lift to the dorm. The car ride was about 2 hours from the airport to our dorm.

The apparels and stuff were all on the upper levels now.. reminiscences of "Devil wears Prada"..

Caught the cold.. very bad one...
had been wasting at least 2 toilet rolls per day day for the past 3 days.
Went out to get medicine today and I think this cold has pretty much messed up my brain.
I first passed by this Chinese herbal shop, and theres this bottle named anti-cough syrup and unknowingly I bought it.. After buying it I realised its not a cough that I had. Following that I went inside NTUC and then I saw Strepsils and again unknowingly I bought it.. wth.

Finally after clearing my mind I realised I needed Panadol Cold relief... which in the end I did get.

Had a long chat with my friend who's getting really agitated with life problems ^^;

Anyway Natsumatsuri this sunday! cant wait :P

Went to watch Evan Almighty today. Wanted to watch No Reservations but the show timings were kinda late...
However, it was a good thing we watched Evan Almighty. Turned out to be a really good movie that made me laughed and also reminded us of how important it is to spend time with our family as well.

Went back to school today to bring some Japanese students, from Ryukoku daigaku, around NUS. Apparently their school is located in Kyoto as well, and its pretty near where I will be studying ^^

It was lots of fun bringing them around NUS. We first brought them to arts canteen to have lunch and after that we chatted for around 1 hour. After that we toured them around central library and finally back to PGP.

So glad I went for this programme. The students were all so friendly. We exchanged contacts and they even gave me their Keitai denwa bangos to call them when I get there. Yatane :P I so wanna fly over there right now ~~~~

Went down to Comex today. Every year I visit Comex, unintentionally. After church, suppose to have dinner with Jo then suddenly he says he wanna visit Comex so we decided to have dinner at town.

These 2 Phuture (sp?) girls were dancing non-stop to club music.

Something interesting that happened after that was the MC was asking who wanna buy this IT-camera at a discounted price of $85 (U.P was 99 I think). Who ever was willing to come up on to the platform would get that Camera at that discounted price, the MC was like saying don't shy la just come up. So this lad went up and the MC began interviewing him those ASL kind of things. After that they played the "tuo diao" music and said he had to dance lol.

Finally after buying our IT stuff we went over to YukiYaki for dinner. First 10 min changed foil 3 times haha, shows how bad cooks we are.

Got my passport back with my Japan Visa in it omg. I can now officially live in Japan for 1 full year without worrying about some random keisatsu (police) catching me in Japan.

Went to watch Hairspray the next day, really really good show. Story was great, music was fantastic, characters were awesome...
P.S: Not to be mean or anything but does any feel that the female lead looks like the US version of 200 pounds? :P

Good news 1: My COE is finally here~~~
Went down to school early morning yesterday to collect the package from Kyoto University. Intended to head down directly to the embassy to apply for the Visa..then it started raining...like mad.

Good news 2: My Visa last 1 whole year^^
Means I get to stay up till August next year omg. So anyway I applied today and hopefully will be getting it this Friday.

Good news 3: I'm gonna be cycling to school everyday!! just like JDramas haha
Its a 20 min bicycle ride from the dorm to school.

Good news 4: My rent is pretty affordable and spacious I think
The dorm that I'm staying is pretty small but my Sensei said that its pretty standard for most Japanese apartment.

Good news 5: 1 more month and I'll be gone
Not entirely a good news cause I'm gonna be missing people here ; ; You know who you guys are :P

Went down to the Japanese school today together with Tan San San and Chong San for the Natsu Matsuri festival.

The festival starts at 6 and when we got there at 4:30....

This was like the best part of the festival as everyone gathered together to dance. Its like the the human train they form in countdowns except this one has dance steps to it and its probably more organize hehe.

The dancers were also so friendly and helpful, teaching people that are totally oblivion to whats going on~ one lady even came up to teach and demonstrate the dance steps to us.

Kingyo Tsukuri~! The girl in white was like so cute lor, her net already has a hole and she still keeps trying and trying hehe

My so call catch, actually it was getting late and there were like still tons of goldfishes so the stall owners decided to randomly give them away :P

I will hopefully be in Kyoto enjoying myself..
OK this waiting is killing me. My COE(Certificate of Eligibility) has yet to arrive, I haven't heard much from KyotoU and NUS, and no one wants to hire someone that can only commit for like the next 1 month or so.

This long extended break made me missed school, so yesterday, I decided to have lunch with a couple of my schoolmates back in NUS. We had lunch at the newly renovated Arts canteen and it looked pretty ok la. The place looked new(dur), kinda similar to some S-11 coffee shop, also theres BK and some Thai foodstall upstairs. Anyway we decided to try the Thai stall since it had the longest queue and so commonsensically(not sure why) we queued up as well.

The cashier was pretty weird. I ordered some lemon chicken set meal and a drink. He took my order, passed it to the chef behind, then went to get my drink. He took an empty cup, filled it with coke and then passed it to me directly. So there I was holding the drink in my hand wondering wth? Normally you'd put in on a tray because I still had food coming but oh well. I took out a tray to put my drink and waited for my food. Next weird thing was, when my food was ready, I assume the supposedly normal thing to do would be to put it on my tray that I took out. Apparently he doesn't like my tray and so he took out another tray and placed all my food on it. So again I was like wth, now I had 2 trays; 1 just for my drink and utensils, the other for my food. Anyway more weird things happened when my friends were ordering as well, one time the cashier got really stressed and he took out a calculator to calculate customer's change.

Anyway my application to extend my course in Kyoto U was unsuccessful, so now I'll have to come up with other plans to kill time in Japan after my semester. Willingly to listen to any random realistic suggestions.
